Happy Lunar New Year!

Posted by TIJA HUNTER on 1/17/2023

The library has created a special display for this special time of year. We are celebrating the Lunar New Year which started in China and is popular across many parts of Asia. The first day of the Lunar Calendar begins on January 22nd, 2023. Celebrations in China last for 7 days. The day of the full moon ends the festivities usually with dragon and lion dances and fireworks. To learn more about the Chinese Zodiac and read books by Asian authors please visit the library.

On Thursday, January 19th, and Friday, January 20th during Advisory, please stop by to learn how to make a paper Chinese lantern.
