LGBT Support
Here at Ryan Middle School we want to ensure all students are in a safe environment regardless of their sexual orientation. Don't hesitate to talk to the counselors about sexual orientation concerns, questions, or needed support.
GLSEN: Gay, lesbian, & straight education network: GLSEN strives to assure that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.
It Gets Better Project: The It Gets Better Project was created to show young LGBT people the levels of happiness, potential, and positivity their lives will reach – if they can just get through their teen years. The It Gets Better Project wants to remind teenagers in the LGBT community that they are not alone — and it WILL get better.
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD): For over 25 years, GLAAD has worked with news, entertainment and social media to bring culture-changing stories of LGBT people into millions of homes and workplaces every day
The Trevor Project: The Trevor Project is the leading national
organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth.
