Academic Information

Ryan Middle School offers several opportunities for students to get caught up on work and stay on task. Utilizing class time is the best way a student can keep assignments current and stay on track. The counselors are also available to help students organize and improve their study skills. We offer several opportunities for students to catch up on missing assignments, get additional help with homework and work on projects. 
Ryan Learning Center (RLC) 
21th Century Alaska Community Learning Center Grant Funded Program 
Enrollment in this program requires a commitment to attend all sessions each day. This is not a drop-in program.
4:00-4:25 p.m. Students gather their materials & meet with Ms. Vignola to start the program. Free mini-meals are provided at this time.
4:30-5 p.m. Study Hall block Students receive academic support and a quiet place to get help to work on: Missing Assignments, Homework Assignments 
5:00-5:30 p.m. Project/Remediation Block, Team Project, Scholastic Science/Math.
5:30-6 p.m. Enrichment block, various classes will be offered such as: Physical Activities, Family and Consumer Science, Board and Cooperative Games, Rock Wall, Service Learning & Community Partners
(Driven to Move & Fairbanks Soil & Water) 
  • Students must be picked-up promptly by 6:15 pm 
  • Parents must sign student out when picking their child up early and notify the school if their child is unable to attend.
  • Students can walk home if parental permission is given.
  • Bus Tokens are available for students to ride the MACS bus. 
Parental/Guardian involvement is encouraged.

Ryan Learning Center will consist of academic help & instruction, followed by a fun enrichment class or activity. Qualified teachers will offer review lessons when appropriate and will help with daily assignments, missing work and study skills, get caught up with missing work.

Please stop by the office or call to receive an interest form to get your child enrolled today. You can also find this form below. Spaces fill up quickly! Program begins on Sept. 4th. 
Catch-up Club:
4:00-5:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday: Available for all students, students must have their own transportation home
Also available in room 2 during lunch: All students are encouraged to utilize this time to catch-up on any missing assignments or get ahead on assignments.
