Subject: FNSBSD: Hutchison High School Start Date
FAIRBANKS - Hutchison High School will start school with remote learning on Monday, August 22. The recent wind storm damaged the school power breaker and until the breaker is rebuilt and reinstalled, the building will remain without electricity and out of service. Due to shipping delays of parts, as well as a number of other future variables involving repair, shipping, and installation that may impact timelines, the school will shift to remote start learning for all Hutchison students.
Remote learning is planned to continue through Wednesday, August 31. September 1-2 will be teacher work days (no school) and in-person school would tentatively be Tuesday, September 6.
Hutchison teachers and staff have started working in-person at the Fairbanks Pipeline Training Center to prepare for the school year.
Families were provided an update and information with details regarding remote learning, including checkout of technology and curriculum materials.
