Hutchison High, a career and technical school, eases selection standards

Hutchison High School is relaxing its application criteria. Starting in 2019, the school will no longer give extra weight to students with good grades and good attendance. Applicants also no longer will be required to submit letters of recommendation. All students who apply will have an equal chance to get in. Students will be chosen in a lottery, solely by chance. The goal is to reduce barriers to admission for students looking for a career and technical education, according to Robyn Taylor, school principal.
