On Friday, September 27, the district will send test emergency messages via email, text message, and automated phone call.
These are the methods we have available to alert you directly in an emergency situation. If you do not receive our test messages in all the ways you want, please take steps to ensure your contact information is up-to-date.
Contact information for parents/guardians can be viewed and edited in PowerSchool. Once you log in, look for Demographic Information in the Registration section. Your school office can help you get your PowerSchool parent/guardian account set up. District staff members can check and edit contact information in ESS. To receive text messages, a cell phone needs to be designated as your primary number.
In the event that school is canceled or a delayed start is implemented, usually in response to weather events, we will use all of these methods and post notices on the website and an audio message on the district’s main phone number 452-2000. In these situations, we also send an announcement out to local news outlets and share the message on our Facebook and Twitter accounts.
In the event that safety measures are activated at a location during the school day, such as all exterior doors of a school being locked in response to nearby law enforcement activity, we will send out notices to parents/guardians during the security event by text message, email and mobile app notifications. Once these situations are resolved, your school principal will follow up with more detailed communication via phone call and/or email.
