Superintendent Search Update
During the Board of Education Regular Meeting on Tuesday, April 6 the Board of Education voted to suspend the superintendent search, meaning they will not be moving forward with the superintendent candidate finalists Justin Barnes, Vickie Cartwright, and Corey Weiss.
President Tim Doran said, “On behalf of the Board, we really want to thank the candidates who made it to finalists. Each one of them brought certain qualities to the table, and they took two of their evenings to speak to our community. It’s a big time commitment to not only go through the application process but to take that time, so we really want to thank them. However, at this time we don’t feel that we have the match that we need for our students and our community.”
Doran noted that the superintendent search process is a lengthy, robust, and multi-faceted effort to find the right person to help lead our district.
The Board of Education will review options, including the possibility of appointing an interim superintendent, and next steps going forward in the superintendent search at its Special Meeting on Saturday, April 10, 2021, beginning at 8:00 am. Meeting information can be found on the Board of Education’s meeting and events webpage.
