Interim Superintendent or Chief School Administrator Selection Process

On Saturday, April 10th, the Board of Education met to discuss next steps in its current search for the next FNSBSD Superintendent.  The discussion centered around providing a competitive salary, promoting the Fairbanks community, and consideration of a longer application period.  Taking some time to slow the process down is what is needed to find the person with the best qualifications and personality for the future of our students and staff.  
 
By unanimous vote, the Board voted to establish a process for appointing an Interim Superintendent or Chief School Administrator for the FY 2021-2022 school year.  By doing so, there is ample time to do a thorough search for a permanent Superintendent or Chief School Administrator.  
 
Individuals interested in being considered for the Interim position must send a cover letter and resume via email to schoolboard@k12northstar.org or drop it off in-person to the School Board Office at 520 Fifth Avenue, 4th Floor,  no later than, Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 4:30 pm.
