Thank you to all who participated in the Kindergarten Backpack Giveaway! OVER 400 students enrolled as incoming kindergarteners for the 2023-24 school year.
The District collected 50 backpacks and distributed them among 17 of our elementary schools.
We hope this helps families prepare their little ones for success! The backpacks included school supplies such as pencils, folders, water bottles, headphones, tissues, lined paper, AND an early reading book.
Thanks to Summit Church Alaska and World's Biggest Backpack for the generous donation of backpacks and many of the school supplies!
• Families that enrolled in kindergarten registration through May 12 were eligible to win.
• Winners were randomly selected from the enrollment list at elementary schools.
• Schools will contact the winning families and coordinate a time for pickup.
