• Kindergarten Program
Barnette has two full-day Kindergarten classes; each class of twenty-three students works closely with their classroom teacher and full-time kindergarten aid to build strong foundational skills in early literacy and mathematics to prepare them for a successful academic future. Morning academics are complemented by enrichment classes such as music, art and physical education. Afternoons are enhanced with fun and engaging science and social studies lessons to provide an inclusive, well-rounded day for all students.

    1st-3rd Grade Program
Specials (PE, music and art) and explorations (including TaeKwonDo, social studies and science) are offered in the morning followed by lunch and then literacy and mathematics taught by their homeroom teacher in the afternoons.

    4th-8th Grade Program
Literacy and mathematics are taught in the morning by their homeroom teacher, followed by explorations in the afternoon. Afternoon explorations are multi-age and often include a 4th - 8th grade span with offerings such as PE, choir, home economics, debate, National History Day and science.

    Middle School Program
Barnette is a K-8 school where students engage in a team-like atmosphere. The middle school program kicks off with homeroom where students engage in social emotional education, team building and have a mentor teacher that checks in with the student academically. The morning is departmentalized with a strong 6/7/8th grade team that includes math, social studies, and English teachers. These teachers are the students' homeroom teachers enabling a smooth morning transition between the three classes.  Afternoon explorations are multi-age and often include a 4th - 8th grade span with offerings such as PE, choir, home economics, debate, National History Day and science. Our middle school program fosters accountability and achievement for all students.
