PSAT (Preliminary SAT)

The PSAT is scheduled for October 12, 2022.   Check in begins at 7:15 am in Hering Auditorium. 

The deadline to register and pay is THURSDAY, September 29, 2022.   Pay Online for the PSAT

ASVAB

The ASVAB is a Career Exploration Program that empowers students nationwide to discover their strengths and interests, then you can map out post-secondary plans that work.

The ASVAB was created to identify interests, personal characteristics and strengths to match your background and skills to possible career paths.

How to Register for ACT & SAT

Registering online is the fastest and easiest way to register for the ACT and SAT tests (links to the sites are below).
You will need Lathrop's School Code: 020035 and make sure to choose UAF as your testing site (this is the only one available in the Fairbanks/North Pole areas).

There are a multitude of SAT and ACT Test Prep programs online that incorporate math, reading, and writing study guides, vocabulary flash cards, practice quizzes / explanations, and simulated practice tests. The following are a few that have been suggested to our staff.

ACT & SAT
This sheet lists the differences between the two exams. Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to take the ACT and SAT as many times as they can to achieve their highest scores.

Keep in mind, the APS (Alaska Performance Scholarship) requires a minimum ACT or SAT Score.

If you are using an ACT Fee Waiver or a SAT Fee Waiver, you can NOT register for the late registration dates. 

ACT/SAT Waived for some schools (Including UAF)

Most schools are waiving the ACT/SAT testing requirements for Fall 2021 College applications. This is not a blanket statement as each school has their own requirements, so please check with your school on their current requirements and policies. If applying to UAF, due to COVID-19, ACT scores will be waived for the 2020-2021 academic year.
