Alternate bus stops are sometimes necessary due to inclement weather. Make sure you know the location of your child's alternate stop.

Toys for Tots trots to Fairbanks: JROTC’s mission, bring toys to those in need
Bryan Johnson, a sophomore with the West Valley High School Marine Corps JROTC, was on a mission Sunday morning. He walked up and down the aisles of Fred Meyer West, looking for $10-$20 gifts that would interest girls ages 9-11.

First responders awarded for dedicated public service, putting lives at risk
Members of the community were honored over the weekend for their dedicated public service in roles that can put their lives at risk. The 'No One Left behind Banquet' was a night to honor first responders and their families for their service, dedication and pivotal roles they provide to the Fairbanks North Star Borough communities. Sarah Price, with North Pole High Schools JR-ROTC, shared how the students in the program strive to exemplify the same leadership skills of those being recognized.

Student service project honors first responders
One of the recipients of the Outstanding First Responder Awards is a police officer who helped a young girl overcome a fear of police. The officer was nominated by the girl’s foster mother.
