  • Please Note:

Schools will have smaller class capacities with social distancing requirements this year. Due to these constraints, schools won’t be able to provide enrollment information as early as they have in the past, and possibly not until after the first day of school. Priority access for part-time enrollment will be given to FNSBSD BEST students first and then schools will evaluate for students who attend other homeschool programs.

  • District Mobile App Discontinued | July 21, 2020

The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District is discontinuing its mobile app due to declining use and limited resources. The app will no longer work after July 31, 2020. However, families can still use the PowerSchool app, School Cafe app, and the district website to access information. The school district will continue to prioritize making the district and school website mobile friendly and communicating through its other channels, including text, email, phone calls, and social media.

  • District News & Notes | September 3, 2020

Hello School District Family, On Wednesday, September 2nd, the Board of Education voted to “provide in-school learning supports for students identified by Student Support Services and Special Education according to the phase-in plans developed by those departments.” Special Education Student Education teams are convening to review individual student education plans (IEP) and identify the extent to which individual students with disabilities may require more access to in-person learning opportunities than their peers. The nature or severity of disability for some of our special education students may make it uniquely difficult for them to fully benefit from these remote educational opportunities and address their overall learning and developmental needs.
