Cell Phone Policy
To support a focused and inclusive learning environment, our school district has adopted a consistent policy for personal device use during the school day.
Board Policy 5138: Cell Phone and Other Personal Electronic Devices
Administrative Regulation 5138: Cell Phone and Personal Electronic Devices
Policy by Grade Level
Elementary School (Grades K–5)
Students must keep their devices turned off and stored in backpacks, cubbies, or lockers throughout the school day. Use before and after school is up to the principal’s discretion.
Middle School (Grades 6–8)
Students must keep devices turned off and stored in lockers all day - not in pockets or backpacks. Use before and after school is determined by each principal.
High School (Grades 9–12)
Devices must be turned off and stored in lockers during the entire school day, including passing periods. Students may use their devices only during lunch. This change helps reduce classroom distractions and improve student focus.
