• Cell phones (with or without internet access)

• Personal electronics (e.g., tablets, handheld gaming devices)

• AirPods, earbuds, Bluetooth-connected headphones

• Smartwatches and fitness trackers with internet connectivity

Call the school’s main office. Staff will relay urgent messages to your child. Students can also use school phones if needed.

Having one clear rule across the school creates consistency for students and reduces conflict. It also gives teachers more time to focus on teaching instead of monitoring phone use.

That’s part of our goal - but experts say students need clear boundaries. Apps and social media are designed to be addictive. Learning when not to use phones is just as important as learning how to use them.

In emergencies, phones can make situations more dangerous:

• Students may miss safety instructions if distracted by devices

• False rumors can spread quickly

• Phones can clog communication channels needed by emergency responders

• Parents rushing to school can delay rescue or relocation efforts

• First time: the device will be kept in the school office until the end of the day.

• Next time: a parent/guardian will need to come to school to pick it up.

• Continued refusal to follow the rules may result in further discipline.

Yes. Students with documented needs (medical or language-related) may be granted exceptions. Please contact your school principal to discuss your child’s situation.
