Welcome to The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District!
Fairbanks North Star Borough School District (FNSBSD) is a military-friendly school district. We want to help make your transition in our schools as smooth as possible and provide you with up-to-date information while you are here!
With more than 12,600 students and 33 schools in the district, FNSBSD educates more than 4,000 military-connected students, which is roughly one third of our student population. (Current as of August 2023)
Hutchison High's student population is 16.3% military connected; 6% Active Duty: USAF & USARMY, 8.4% Civil Service: USAF & USARMY, and 1.9% Air Guard.
Our district includes Arctic Light Elementary (Fort Wainwright: K-5th grade), Anderson Crawford Elementary (Eielson AFB: K-5th grade) and Ben Eielson Jr/Sr High School (Eielson AFB: 6th-12th grade), which are located on post and on base.

Our district also supports the Child and Youth Behavior Military & Family Counseling Program, a program funded by the Department of Defense, where seven counselors serve five elementary schools, three middle schools, and three high schools for students, families and staff.
