The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District is committed to keeping families, staff, and the community informed during the COVID-19 pandemic. The information above shows the number of lab-confirmed cases. The District reports positive cases to the Public Health Department and follows the State of Alaska self-isolation and quarantine requirements.
Does the student count include both eLearning and in-person students?
Yes. Both remote and in-person learners are included.
How are the case counts updated?
Our close contact team updates the case counts as lab-confirmed positive test results are reported and verified. The total number of lab-confirmed cases includes both active and recovered cases reported since August 24, 2020.
How does the FNSBSD receive its case counts?
The Public Health Department, FNSBSD staff and our families notify us of lab-confirmed positive test results. We then verify the report, initiate contact tracing and send notifications.
