    Junior Achievement

    Hands-on Business & Economics Learning

    Wednesday, October 24th 2:00-3:00pm. This is for students in grades 2-5. Participants will build an understanding of business and economics in our community through hands-on learning experiences. Join our special community presenter for this program at the BEST Lab.

    This is the last session this month. Please RSVP at 452-2000 x 11201 if you plan to attend.

    School Picture Day

    Thursday October 25th, 12:00-2:00pm

    Smile! It’s school picture day here at BEST. Pictures will take place in the BEST lab from 12pm-2pm. 

    Parents, have you updated your students’ FERPA information? You can do this by going in to PowerSchool Parent Portal. Check “YES” to allow school portraits. (School portraits may be used for yearbooks and as the students’ PowerSchool profile picture) 

     

                  

     

     

     

     

     

                                 

                    

     

    Junior Nordics Cross Country Ski Program

    Temperatures are dropping, the frost is here and that means it’s time to sign up for the Junior Nordics Ski Program! Early registration is open now through October 24th. Late registration includes a $25 late fee and will remain open until November 5. The first session of classes begins November 15th. Junior Nordic classes are for students ages 5-14. Adult lessons are also offered. For more information, visit nscfairbanks.org  

    No School

    Please note that October 25th & 26th are Parent-Teacher Conference days for FNSBSD schools. There is no school for students on these days. BEST homeschool will remain open, however, there will be no Fun Friday activity this week.

     

     

     

    Northern Forest, October 20 2-4pm. Collect natural objects, view landscape paintings by Gail Priday, and paint your own nature observations.

     

     

    UAF Museum of the North

    The museum has an exciting new family program for teens starting this Saturday, October 20th, from 2-4 pm.  Each month, explore a new theme and make something to take home. This is for ages 13-18. Register online at bit.ly/uamnteenstudio
