North Pole Elementary Counselor Page
Hello my name is Chris Illingworth and I am the counselor at North Pole Elementary School.
I have been the Counselor at North Pole Elementary School for the past 26 years. This year 2019/2020 will be my 27th year.
I greatly enjoy working at North Pole Elementary School and look forward to working with your children this year.
As the Counselor I provide a number of services to the school. I do classroom lessons, small group sessions with groups of children as well as meeting individually with students. I also am available to meet with parents. When I'm not in classrooms or meeting with parents or teachers, you will often see me on the playgrounds, in the halls or at parent pickup.
I usually visit each classroom for 30 minutes every other week. Most of my classroom lessons are based upon social skills and how to deal with typical elementary developmental issues. Such as Bullies, Friendship Issues, Social Skills development, and other topics that students and teachers request.
I also cover the School Districts curriculums on Drugs, Guns and Knives, Personal Safety and Child Abuse.
Outside of school I enjoy swimming, fishing and camping with my family. I have two daughters of my own. My oldest is a Sophmore in college and my youngest is in 10th Grade. My wife and I keep busy going to their activities and working with our two dogs (Google, a Search and Rescue German Shepherd dog and Gracie, a lab mix). Between the kids and the dogs we are quite busy most of the time
If there is anything you would like to talk with me about or you are looking for resources, please feel free to stop by my office or give me a call.
