FNSBSD Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
If you're an active staff member or student, you may connect your personal phone or laptop to district Wi-Fi.
Please open the FNSBSD BYOD Google Doc and follow along with the type of device you're using.

Android
To connect your Android device to the district wireless, you'll need to perform two steps.
1. Connect to FNSBSD-BYOD
- For EAP method, select PEAP
- Enter your f-number or s-number and your password
- For Select certificate, select Don't validate
2. Install the Securly certificate
- Download https://download.securly.com/cert/securly_ca_2034.crt
- Name it Securly
- Click OK
The default "VPN and apps" is correct

Chromebooks
BYOD - Chromebooks
To connect your Chromebook to district wireless, you'll need to perform two steps.
1. Connect to FNSBSD-BYOD
- Enter your f-number or s-number and your password
- You may also need to accept a certificate for ise-admin01.k12northstar.org
2. Install the Securly certificate
- Download https://download.securly.com/cert/securly_ca_2034.crt
- On the chrome://settings page scroll down to Advanced.
- Under Privacy and Security click Manage Certificates.
- Under the Your certificates tab click Import to start the certificate installation process. You can alternatively also click Import in the Authorities tab as well.
- Once the certificate is installed it will be displayed under the Authorities tab.

iOS
BYOD - iOS
To connect your iPhone or iPad to district wireless, you'll need to perform two steps.
1. Connect to FNSBSD-BYOD
- Enter your f-number or s-number and your password.
- Tap Trust to accept the certificate for ise-admin01.k12northstar.org.
2. Install the Securly certificate
- Using Safari, download https://download.securly.com/cert/securly_ca_2034.crt
- Once installed, you must go to Settings > Profile Downloaded > Install
- Then go to Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings and enable *.securly.

macOS
To connect your macOS device to district wireless, you'll need to perform two steps.
1. Connect to FNSBSD-BYOD
- For Identity, select None
- Enter your f-number or s-number and your password
2. Install the Securly certificate
- Download https://download.securly.com/cert/securly_ca_2034.crt
- Open Keychain Access (do a Spotlight search for it)
- On the left, select System and All Items
- Open your downloads folder and drag securly_ca_2034.crt into the Keychain Access window
- Double click *.securly.com
- Click the triangle next to Trust
- Change the first drop down box to Always Trust
- Close out of everything, putting your password in where necessary
(Optional) Firefox Securly cert:
- Download https://download.securly.com/cert/securly_ca_2034.crt
- In Firefox, in the top right corner, click the three horizontal lines
- Select Options
- On the left select Privacy & Security
- Scroll all the way down and click View Certificates
- Click Import and select securly_ca_2034.crt that you downloaded earlier
- Click Open and check the boxes that say Trust this CA to identify websites/email users and click OK

Windows
To connect your Windows device to district wireless, you'll need to perform two steps.
1. Connect to FNSBSD-BYOD
- Enter your f-number or s-number and your password
- Click the Connect button when it asks you to continue
2. Install the Securly certificate
- Download https://download.securly.com/cert/securly_ca_2034.crt
- Double click securly_ca_2034.crt
- Click Install Certificate
- Select Local Machine
- Select Place all certificate in the following store
- Click Browse, select Trusted Root Certification Authorities, and click OK
- Next, Finish, OK, OK.
(Optional) Firefox Securly cert:
- Download https://download.securly.com/cert/securly_ca_2034.crt
- In Firefox, in the top right corner, click the three horizontal lines
