Library Program & Staffing

Our FNSBSD school libraries play a critical role in fostering student success by providing equitable access to a diverse range of learning resources. These resources, encompassing books, digital media, and research tools, empower students to conduct in-depth research, cultivate critical thinking skills, and develop a sustained appreciation for reading.

School libraries are essential components of a robust educational system.

  • Studies consistently demonstrate a correlation between strong school libraries and improved student performance. Libraries provide access to resources that supplement classroom learning and support research assignments.
  • School libraries cultivate a culture of reading by providing access to a diverse collection of books and resources. This encourages students to explore different genres and discover the joy of reading, which has lifelong benefits.
  • School libraries provide equal access to resources for all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background. This is particularly important for students who may not have access to books or technology at home.
  • School libraries offer a space for students to develop essential research skills, which are crucial for academic success and future careers. Library staff guide students in using various resources, including databases and online tools.

School libraries are more than just repositories of books; they are dynamic learning hubs.
