Grant Opportunities

 

Grant seeking employees/departments must request and receive approval before submitting a grant application to a funding organization

Alaska State Council on the Arts - Excursion Grants are up to $600 ($1,000 for Title I schools) to support transportation and admission costs incurred in attending arts and cultural events. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and 30 days prior to the planned activity.

Association for Learning Environments - The Alaska Chapter offers grants of up to $4,000 to educators wanting to transform their learning environment to enhance the educational experience.  

D'Addario Foundation Music Grants - The D'Addario Foundation supports programs that bring music back into communities and schools and get kids playing as early and as frequently as possible.

Delta Kappa Gamma Mini Grants - Educators are given the opportunity to apply for grants to fund special projects in their schools and classrooms.

Doyon, Ltd. - The Donations Committee considers general donation requests 

Fabulous Feminists - Alaska Advocacy & Impact Grant is a monthly emergency grant funding opportunity for Alaska non-profits to advocate, educate, and support the populations they serve furthering intersectional feminist ideals of societal change, equity, and transformation.

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation - provides funding for lifesaving equipment to help first responders and public safety organizations be better prepared to save lives.  Applications for grants up to $25,000 will be accepted quarterly in early July, October, January, and April.

Foundation Health Partners - Requests must align with FHP’s mission or address a significant health or well-being need within the community. Sponsorship requests are reviewed on a bi-monthly basis.

Fund for Teachers - Awards individual fellowships (funding limit of $5,000) and team fellowships (funding limit of $10,000) to pre-K-12 classroom teachers to immerse themselves in their fields of study. 

Game Changer Grants - $500 grants to help young Alaskans from economically challenged backgrounds participate in sports or recreational activities.

Golden Heart Community Foundation - Supports projects that enhance the quality of life for Fairbanks and North Pole area residents, addressing immediate needs while working toward long-term improvements.

Golden Valley Electric Association Goodcents Program - Applications for grants up to $15,000 are due quarterly, on the last day of January, April, July, and October.

Good Idea Grants from the Federally Impacted Schools Educational Foundation support federally impacted PreK-12 teachers and schools with grants of up to $5,000 in their efforts to address students’ academic needs and social/emotional wellness.

Kids Gardening - Awards youth garden grants to support school and youth educational garden projects that enhance the quality of life for students and their communities.

Kinross Fort Knox provides support for a wide variety of programs and services that contribute to the health, welfare, and overall quality of life in the communities where we do business. Requests are considered on a quarterly basis.

NEA Foundation offers grants for educators including students success, learning and leadership, and envision equity grants. 

Snapdragon Book Foundation - Seeks to foster children's literacy by providing support to school libraries serving disadvantaged children.

Spirit of Youth Grants - Empowering Youth Voice to End Bullying grant program 

Tanana Valley Youth Sports Foundation - Provides funding, through the distribution of grants, to organizations that support youth activities in the Interior. 

Usibelli Coal Mine supports organizations involved with arts and culture, health, human services, and civic affairs. Special emphasis is directed toward programs designed to facilitate learning through education. Applications for grants are due quarterly, on the last day of May, August, November, and February. 

Views on Learning Grants - Up to $25,000 to purchase innovative technology for student use. Applications are due May 15. 

Voya Unsung Heros awards program - Grants of $2,000 for K-12 educators and their schools to fund innovative classroom projects.

Walmart Foundation Local Community Grants - Applications for grants up to $5,000 are due on April 15, July 15, October 15, and December 31.

Whole Kids Foundation Grant - The Whole Kids Foundation offers grants to support school gardens, nutrition, beehives, and entrepreneurship.
