The Alaska Room Programs
Do'int'a!
(Hello or How are you in Benhti Kenaga’)
The Alaska Room Program provides cultural experiences and cultural support to schools all year round.
Changes in the programming at the Alaska Room have allowed for greater community engagement, more diverse and creative programs that meet the needs of students, and many collaborations with schools. We provide programming for grades from kindergarten through 12th grade. Specific needs can be met by filling out the Interest Form below.
We have craft kits, cultural lesson planning support, and resources for many subjects and grade levels.
We want to support you in your cultural teaching in the classroom and look forward to working with you!
The longer spring program includes crafting, games, and storytelling. In order to come to a school for a longer program, we would need a space to set up, either a commons, a small room, or a corner of the library. We can move spaces during the week but need to stay put each day to provide crafting with elders. We would also like to work with the gym teacher to provide Alaska Native/ American Indian games for the week that we will visit.
