Youth Risk Behavior Survey

High School students are invited to participate in the 2022-2023 Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS). The survey is sponsored by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) developed the survey to collect information about behaviors related to the health and well-being of students across the nation. The results of this survey will be used to learn about and address the health concerns of Alaska’s teenagers.

The survey does not ask for the student’s name and is completely anonymous.

Participation in this survey is very important to the school district, the State of Alaska, and the nation. However, participation is voluntary. Parental written consent is required for students to participate. Parents: log in to Powerschool and click the YRBS banner at the top to provide permission.

The survey will be administered during the student support period on March 1, 2023 which has been extended to 1 hour to provide enough time to complete the survey.

The 2023 survey questionnaire, results from past YRBS surveys, and further information about the YRBS are posted online at http://dhss.alaska.gov/dph/Chronic/Pages/yrbs/yrbs.aspx
