ParaPro Requirement

Here are several options to complete the DEED Paraprofessional requirement:

✅ Provide proof of 48 college credits

Submit your official transcripts showing that you have completed 48 college credits.

✅ Pass the ParaPro Assessment

The FNSBSD Human Resources Department will be offering the Parapro Assessment at the downtown ADC building monthly.

After registering, you will receive a calendar invitation with more information, including a link to test preparation materials.

The fee for the assessment is $95 and can be paid via check, cash, or card. Parapros who work in a Title I school may have Title I funding available.

This test takes 2.5 hours.

Results are received at the end of the test and certificates are emailed.

✅ Pass the WorkKeys Assessment

The FNSBSD Human Resources Department will be offering the WorkKeys at the downtown ADC building monthly.

These are the 3 required tests and the minimum scores required:

·      Workplace Documents - Level 4
·      Applied Math - Level 4
·      Graphic Literacy - Level 3

After registering, you will receive a calendar invitation with more information, including a link to test preparation materials.

·      The fee for this test is $28 per assessment or $79 for all three taken on the same day. Parapros who work in a Title I school may have Title I funding available.
·      Each test is fifty-five (55) minutes long and can be taken in one (1) sitting or three (3).
·      Results are received at the end of the test and certificates are emailed.

✏️ WorkKeys Testing is also available at the Fairbanks Job Center twice a week. This is not a walk-in assessment and MUST be scheduled in advance using the process detailed below.

To register for the WorkKeys at the Fairbanks Job Center, please complete the following steps:

·      Register through your My Alaska account
·      Through ‘View Services,’ navigate to Alaska Jobs https://my.alaska.gov/
·      Complete the Comprehensive Registration
·      Call the job center at 907-451-5901 to confirm registration, schedule an assessment date, and coordinate testing materials.
·      There is no fee for the WorkKeys at the Fairbanks Job Center.
·      Each test is fifty-five (55) minutes long and can be taken in one (1) sitting or three (3).
·      Results are received at the end of the test and certificates are mailed.
·      Once the test has been completed, submit your official results to Human Resources at human.resources@k12northstar.org.
