Application for JUNE Intersession

The CEC June Intersession is for current district Seniors who did not qualify for May graduation.

Intersession begins Wednesday, May 27th, and runs through Friday, June 20th.

Students will work with a CEC teacher to set a grade goal for each course needed for graduation and determine the content & amount of required work to achieve that goal.

Seniors close to graduation will have the opportunity to complete their final courses required for graduation & participate in a ceremony on Wednesday, June 25th, as a member of their school's Class of 2025.

All other seniors will have an opportunity to recover credit in at least one class.

Application for Full-Time Enrollment

Application for 25-26 school year

If you are interested in enrolling at CEC--The Career Education Center for the 2025-26 school year,  you must complete this application and a follow-up interview.

CEC is a great fit for many struggling students, but not all. This application and interview process provide an opportunity for us to learn about you and for you to learn about CEC.

This process is how we all make sure CEC is right for you.

Our School is all about second chances and offering students something different than what they experienced at a traditional high school.

CEC is designed to help students get back on track for graduation. We are a self-paced, independent program for students who have not found much success at other schools.  Students earn a diploma by meeting the same graduation requirements as all Fairbanks school district students, but they do it independently and at their own pace.

CEC students attend school for 4 hours each day, Monday through Friday, but they have the flexibility to schedule around other personal commitments.

Successful CEC students are motivated, independent, and capable learners, but they have struggled with balancing personal responsibilities outside of school with due dates and deadlines.  Many of our students struggle with reading challenges, skill deficits, and knowledge gaps.

CEC provides materials for a range of reading levels, as well as options for credit recovery, and students have the support of certified teachers when they need extra help.
