    Enroll your child in kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year! Kindergarten roundup is April 29-30, 2019, visit your neighborhood elementary school during that time for help with registration and for a free kindergarten readiness calendar.   • FNSB school board agrees to pay for roofs at two schools

    Ben Eielson Junior-Senior High School and Woodriver Elementary School are on track to get new roofs next year in a deal between the borough and the school district. The school board on Tuesday voted unanimously to spend $7.4 million from education reserves to pay for the roofs on the borough-owned buildings.

  • Gaborik named state Superintendent of the Year

    Lifelong Alaskan, educator and school administrator Dr. Karen Gaborik has been named Alaska’s 2019 School Superintendent of the Year. The award is granted by the Alaska Superintendents Association and honors school system leaders who exemplify “effectiveness, knowledge, leadership, ethics and commitment.”
