Course Description:

The Heavy Equipment Maintenance course will provide a career exploration opportunity for students in high-skill, high-wage and high-demand heavy equipment trade occupations.  Topics may include but are not limited to:

• Computer Diagnostics
• Control Systems
• Diesel Engines
• Drive Train
• Heavy Duty Mechanics
• Hydraulics
• Pneumatics
• Power Packs

Successful completion of this course can be a pathway into union apprenticeships.

Course Credit: 

This will be a Pass/Fail outside credit course which will not be included in GPA calculations. There is a limit of ten students per course. Motivated students may be allowed to take two of the Introduction to the Trades courses. The final selection of student participants will be made by each Union Local instructor in conjunction with counselors and CTE Director.
