Introduction to the Electrical Trades

Location:

Fairbanks Pipeline Training Center Complex, 3580 Cartwright Road. 

Students MUST provide their own transportation.

Course Description:

The Introduction to the Electrical Trades course will provide a career exploration opportunity for students in high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand Electrical Trade occupations.  Topics may include but are not limited to:

  • Residential Wiring
  • Installation of Luminaries
  • Receptacle Switches
  • Electrical Service

Successful completion of this course can be a pathway into union apprenticeships.

Course Credit: 

This will be a Pass/Fail outside credit course which will not be included in GPA calculations. There is a limit of twelve students per course. Motivated students may be allowed to take two of the Introduction to the Trades courses. The final selection of student participants will be made by each Union Local instructor in conjunction with counselors and CTE Director.
