Updated School Boundaries
Following the School Board’s decision to close three schools, the district must update school attendance areas to reflect these changes. Our goal is to create balanced, sustainable attendance zones that support student learning, minimize disruptions, and maximize resources.
2025-26 School Boundary Changes
After careful consideration of the survey results and the values expressed by our families and staff, the district will move forward with Option 2: Balanced Approach for school boundary changes, with some minor adjustments to Weller and Ladd areas based on feedback.

Redistricting Changes
- Attendance areas across Fairbanks are adjusted to better balance school enrollment.
- Affects approximately 950 students.
- Creates a cleaner elementary-to-middle-to-high school feeder system, so all but one elementary school feeds into only one middle and one high school.
- Impacts the attendance areas of:
- Anne Wien Elementary
- Arctic Light Elementary
- Denali Elementary
- Hunter Elementary
- Ladd Elementary
- North Pole Elementary
- Randy Smith Middle
- Ryan Middle
- Ticasuk Brown Elementary
- University Park Elementary
- Weller Elementary
- Woodriver Elementary
Elementary - Middle - High Flow
All Elementaries would flow to a single middle and high school, with no splits except for Weller Elementary. Weller would have students from the Two Rivers area attending North Pole secondary schools.
