Red Zone (High Risk)

  • High Risk: Widespread community transmission. High amount of laboratory confirmed cases.

In the event of a high risk or red zone situation, remote learning will be implemented for all students. Any decision about school cancellation (individually or districtwide) will be made in coordination with local health officials. In the event a person diagnosed with COVID-19 is determined to have been in a building and poses a risk to the community, the building may be closed for a short time (2-5 days) for cleaning and disinfection.

    Parameters for Safely Operating

    • Establish and maintain communication with local and state authorities to determine current mitigation levels in the community.

    • Implement multiple social distancing strategies with EXTENDED SCHOOL DISMISSALS, closing school buildings to students.

    • Cancel all field trips, inter-group events, sports events and extracurricular activities.

    • Implement distance learning until minimal community spread and local health officials recommend school re-opening.

    • Follow guidelines from local and state health authorities on school re-opening.
