District Operations/Site Support

The exploration of changing school start and end times is one activity the district is conducting to address Objective 4.4 District Operations/Site Support: Execute efficiency and best practice in operational support and financial management for schools, students, and staff. Shannon Bingham of Western Demographics, Inc. was hired by the district to research the potential change of school start and end times and what impact that may have on students and families.

Phase I: Focus Groups

We invite you to review the following research, as shared in Phase I of the exploration:

Phase II: Open Houses and Surveys

Mr. Bingham will host several open houses to present the scenarios being considered, answer questions, and collect feedback on the issue using the “Open House” format in which meetings are scheduled with a one- to two-hour duration.  Parents and others may attend at their convenience.   It takes approximately 20 minutes to view the information on graphic presentation boards called “kiosks” and complete a survey.   Participants may request an individual presentation of the material and ask specific questions of district facilitators.  Participants leave at their convenience.   Open house events are scheduled as follows:
