BALLROOM DANCE

Meets from 4:30 to 6:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays and one weekend (Fri/Sat) a month for additional choreography.

The LHS Ballroom Dance team started in 2001.  The team is made up of students in 8th through 12th grades from many of the high schools, middle schools, and home schools in the Fairbanks area.  The team performs at various events throughout the Fairbanks community as well as events and competitions outside the borough.  The team has placed 2nd and 3rd in the U.S. Youth Latin Division II Formation Championship competitions in 2006 and 2008.  The team travels within the state (on odd years) and out of state (even years).  They have performed in Florida, Hawaii, Washington D.C., California and Fiji as well as numerous places within Alaska.  They actively fundraise and participate in service opportunities within the community and when they travel.
