Wolfpack Mission and Personalizing Learning Launch Night - September 20, 2018
New Parent Orientation:
Starting at 5:30pm, we will host our freshmen and new parent orientation in our Performing Arts Center (PAC) Auditorium. If you are new to the Wolfpack or interested in hearing more about opportunities available to our students, please come join us for a traditional presentation and time to answer questions.
Mission Statement and Personalizing Learning Launch:
Starting at 6pm, our teachers will all be available throughout the building to give parents and community members a peek into our students' worlds. Visit as many different classrooms or activities as you would like, to see what skills and traits are being built each and every day. We hope you will find time to experience and explore what West Valley offers for our students.
Activities will be structured around some key areas teachers are working on building in their classes for our students and families will get to choose what most resonates with them. Check back later for the full schedule.
Building a Better Future:
After taking parent, student, and staff feedback all last year, we are excited to launch West Valley's new mission statement: Learn to work and think for life. Three key identified characteristics rose to the top of our surveys: Critical Thinking, Work Ethic, and Life Ready. Our talented staff has been looking for ways that this mission can live in their classes each and every day, and as a school we will continue working this year to identify how we will foster and develop these skills and traits in our students.
Going forward, we hope to develop strong partnerships with parents to focus on what our students are learning and how we can best prepare them to build a better future for us all.
