Hello Ladd Families and Staff,
Due to the number of COVID-19 positive cases at Ladd Elementary School, we are closing the building to all school-day staff and students from Tuesday, October 6 through Monday, October 19.
The District has been monitoring the positive cases at Ladd and is coordinating closely with Dr. Ohlsen with the Department of Health and Social Services, Public Health, and Dr. Nace. At this time, shutting the building to in person business is the most effective way to stop the spread of the virus in the school community.
We strongly urge the Ladd staff, families and students who have been in the building to do everything possible to ensure our school is COVID free. This includes maintaining very limited personal bubbles, avoiding congregate settings, socially distancing, wearing a mask, and frequently washing your hands.
Dr. Nace will coordinate with Principal Cori Anthony to schedule Zoom meetings in the next few days for staff and for families to answer questions.
While the school building is closed, teachers and staff will continue to provide remote instruction on telework agreements from home. Families may pick up meals through Nutrition Services at Tanana Middle School.
I appreciate everyone’s efforts to keep our school community healthy and safe. Our educators will do their very best to deliver high quality remote instruction during this school closure.
Dr. Karen Gaborik, Superintendent
