About Every Student Succeeds Act
On December 10, 2015, President Obama signed the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which replaced No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). The U.S. Department of Education maintains a page explaining ESSA, and the text of the law is available online.
All states are required to submit a state plan to the U.S. Department of Education for the 2018-2019 school year. Alaska's approved plan in its entirety is available on the Dept. E.E.D. website.
