Healthy Children Learn Better, School Nurses Make it Happen
  • School nurses connect health care and education by providing services that promote the health and well-being of children and minimize barriers to learning. Professional school nurses use their expertise to provide acute, chronic, and emergency care for students. School nurses prevent, monitor and control communicable diseases and screen for other conditions that interfere with academic achievement. School nurses promote health and safety by advocating for health care and a healthy school environment. School nurses are liaisons between the school, the family, and the community.

Electronic Health Record, SchoolCare®

  • SchoolCare® is the school district's Electronic Health Record platform that allows our School Health Office employees to chart health events electronically, allows district leaders to pull health compliance reports, and helps parents engage in their student's health. School Health Office Employees chart student visits and health information and manage their student's chronic diseases on SchoolCare's HIPA and FERPA- compliant health records platform. SchoolCare® communicates directly with parents to ensure they know all about their student's healthcare at school. Parents enter their children's health information directly into SchoolCare®, eliminating the need for paper copies of district health forms.
