Introduction to the Electrical Trades
***Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, in a mutual agreement with the Fairbanks Pipeline Training Center we will be unable to hold the Building Trades, Electrical, Heavy Equipment Operator, Laborers Training, and Welding Academy in the traditional manner in spring 2021.
Please check this page often for the possibility of other training opportunities with the Fairbanks Pipeline Training Center and our local unions in the spring or early summer!

Wednesday & Thursday / 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Offered spring semester 2021, the Introduction to the Electrical Trades course will provide a career exploration opportunity for students into high skill, high wage, and high demand Electrical Trade occupations. Topics may include but are not limited to:
- Residential Wiring
- Installation of Luminaries
- Receptacle Switches
- Electrical Service
Successful completion of this course can be a pathway into union apprenticeships.
This will be Pass/Fail outside credit course which will not be included in GPA calculations. There is a limit of twelve students per course. Motivated students may be allowed to take two of the Introduction to the Trades courses. The final selection of student participants will be made by the instructors of each Local in conjunction with counselors and CTE Director.
