Tips for Parents using PowerSchool

Welcome to PowerSchool Premier, Fairbanks North Star Borough School District's student information system. With PowerSchool Premier you can securely access your student(s) information on the Internet at any time.

Helpful tips:

• Click on anything in blue font to reveal more information --- a teacher's name in blue will open up a blank email to them, a grade in blue links to a list of assignments that make up that grade, an assignment in blue will give you more information about that assignment, etc.
• If you forget your password, you must click on the "Having trouble signing in" link on the Login page to regain access to your account. Passwords are not available to either the schools or the district office.
• For additional help, please call the school office. Please do not call teachers for help with passwords and login. DO contact teachers regarding student progress and grades.

The list below shows what information you will find and under which tab in the parent portal it is located.

Academics

• Access current grades & attendance, and bell schedule
• View report cards, transcripts, and standardized test scores
• Monitor high school student Alaska Performance Scholarship requirement progress

 Student Records

• Access your student's Attendance History
• View fee balances

 Health & Nutrition

• Communicate with your school nurse through the CareDox link
• Link to meal program payment portal

 Registration

• Review and submit change requests for your household’s contact information, etc. in the Student Demographics 
• Give input on your permissions and preferences for this student, for example:
• May my student’s name or photo be displayed on the World Wide Web?
• Who may have access to my phone number and email address?
• May my child be interviewed by the news media?
• Learn how the district defines student rights, responsibilities, and behavioral consequences.
• Read the Responsible Technology Use Agreement

Communication

• Communicate with teachers
• Provide feedback on teacher performance to the school principal Submit a concern regarding a diversity issue
• Find bus routes and set up late bus notifications
• Access online library and other educational resources

• View the school district calendar
• Link to online educational resources
• See contact and location information for your student’s school
