Student Behavioral Handbook Key Infractions
Please view this document that outlines some very important key infractions with established consequences. These are found in the larger "2018-2019 Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Behavioral Consequences Handbook". And while few students find themselves in situations like these, the district would like to draw your attention to a few.

Nordale Students in grades 3-6 will be taking the Performance Evaluation for Alaska Schools (PEAKS) summative assessment in April. Testing will begin promptly in the morning each day. Students will have the opportunity to finish the test at their own pace. Please consider this when making appointments and vacation plasns for your child and family during the testing window.

School district nursing services department has reported an increase in cases of the flu among students and staff members.

The school district is seeking community input on two draft 2020-2021 academic calendar options. Complete the feedback survey by Feb. 8.

School Board regular meeting start time changed
Beginning in January 2019, regular meetings of the Fairbanks North Star Borough Board of Education will start an hour earlier at 6 pm.

Interior Scrapbook: Nordale School
Nordale School in Hamilton Acres was the second elementary school built in Fairbanks to help the overflowing Main School in downtown, which had all classes from first grade through high school. The real photo postcard was published by Reuel Griffin, who purchased Cann's Studio before Nordale School was built.

Gaborik named state Superintendent of the Year
Lifelong Alaskan, educator and school administrator Dr. Karen Gaborik has been named Alaska’s 2019 School Superintendent of the Year. The award is granted by the Alaska Superintendents Association and honors school system leaders who exemplify “effectiveness, knowledge, leadership, ethics and commitment.”
