School Board Meeting Status & Updates

  • School Board Meeting Access Options During Red Zone Operations

Due to the school district being in the Red Operational Zone districtwide, access to the Administrative Center is limited.  School Board and Board Committee meetings are being held by teleconference for board and committee members, district adminisration, and the public.  School Board meetings are live-streamed from the district's webpage and audio-recorded for next-day website posting.  Additionally, School Board Regular Meetings are broadcast through the free NPR app and broadcast live on KUAC-FM 89.9 radio from 7:00 p.m. to adjournment.

    How to Provide Public Testimony

The School Board encourages anyone wishing to provide Public Testimony on Non-Agenda and/or specific agenda topic(s) to email written comments to no later than 4:00 p.m. the day of the meeting. Please indicate in the email subject line: Public Testimony. Public testimony emailed to the School Board will be read into the public record of the applicable meeting. In the email, please specify which agenda item you are providing testimony for (example: Testimony for Policy 425.1: Budget Implementation - Transfer of Funds – Second Reading).  Guidelines for electronic testimony are the same as for in-person testimony - emails must include a person's first and last name and city of residence. As with in-person testimony, and to allow for as many voices as possible to be heard, email, when read into the public record, will be limited to two minutes.

If you wish to provide testimony by phone, you are welcome to sign-up either by calling the School Board Office at (907) 452-2000, ext. 11400 or emailing, no later than 4:00 p.m. the day of the meeting. When the School Board reaches your agenda item, the school board secretary will call upon you to place you into the meeting.  When testifying, you will need to provide your first and last name, spelling your last name, and your area of residence, and you will have two minutes to provide testimony.  Early sign-up is encouraged
