Crisis Management Plans

  • Each school and program in the district develops a crisis management plan using a standard template.  This plan is reviewed by the staff on a regular basis and updated as needed.  Schools are required to practice drills yearly.  To help schools develop their crisis plan, a workbook is available as a resource.
    A major component of the crisis plan is the Crisis Management Team (CMT).  This group is trained on an annual basis and works with the district's safety liaisons and local law enforcement agencies to ensure that the CMT is prepared to implement the plan.
    In addition to each building’s Crisis Management Team, there is also a district Crisis Management Team that is trained and assists schools when needed.
