Immunization Requirements

  • The State of Alaska requires all children who attend Alaska public/private schools, certified preschools, and licensed child care facilities be immunized. Immunization laws and regulations are measures used for the prevention and control of epidemics and the spread of infectious disease.  The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District strictly enforces the "No Shots - No School" policy in accordance with state regulations.

Alaska is a member of the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children. Family members of active duty military are given 30 days to produce official immunization records before being considered non-compliant.

Homeless students are given up to 30 days to obtain official immunization records.  The Guidelines for Provisional Enrollment for Homeless Students without Proof of Immunizations gives detailed information.
