Girls Who Weld

-
Girls Who Weld is geared towards female students as an exploratory course. The course is designed with girls in mind. The purpose is to expose girls to welding and related careers and to act as a survey course for future program enrollment.
The class will focus on safety, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Torch and Plasma Cutting, projects, guest speakers, and field trips. Shop safety is stressed in every activity undertaken. The majority of the time is spent in the shop learning hands-on welding and cutting skills.
The summer 2023 class will be held at the North Pole High School welding shop and will be taught by Mr. Peter Daley. Students must provide their own transportation.
Space is limited. The class will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be a waitlist in case a student fails to show up or needs to drop the class.
