    FREE to All Alaskans!

The Alaska Career Information System (AKCIS) is a free resource available to Alaska residents. AKCIS is made possible through a partnership between the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE) and the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOLWD).

AKCIS is the Alaska Career Information System. It is web based software which offers fabulous academic and career exploration tools. Students can input their preferences for the kind of college they want, and will be given a list of schools that match. They can search for scholarships.

Students can research opportunities in the military service. They can find out about jobs and career pathways with insight as to how that particular career may be increasing or decreasing in demand in our economy.

They can take a number of assessments (IDEAS, SKILLS, WORK IMPORTANCE LOCATOR, REALITY CHECK, etc) to discover how their own interests, values, and dreams correspond to particular careers and occupations.

Visit AKCIS (akcis.org). At the user name prompt enter
    "westvalley".
    As a password use "4Student".

Call any counselor or our counseling technician with any questions you may have.
