Dear Joy Families,
Joy Elementary is now equipped with a buzz-in security system. For the safety of all our students and staff, the buzz-in system went into effect Monday, August 27th.
Joy’s back doors are now locked at 8:30 A.M. and the front doors locked at 8:45 A.M. This is a change to past procedures and the information in our student handbook.
The buzz-in security panel is located on the wall to the left of the main doors. It is equipped with an intercom and video surveillance camera that allows you to speak with someone in the main office.
How the system works:
- PUSH THE WHITE BUTTON IN THE WALL PANEL
- REMAIN IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA
- IDENTIFY YOURSELF WHEN YOU HEAR SOMEONE ANSWER THE INTERCOM.
- GO DIRECTLY TO THE OFFICE ONCE YOU ARE BUZZED IN
Upon entering please go to the office for assistance. We will deliver items dropped off, call students down for pick up, walk late students to class (if needed). If you have arranged to volunteer in the classroom you will need to sign in and get a visitors badge. Although this procedure may be a bit more cumbersome for visitors, it greatly increases our ability to monitor who is allowed access to the halls and rooms occupied by your children.
Thank you for helping us protect our most valued assets, your children.
You may bring necessary documents to the school if you are unable to upload them.
ALL ENROLLMENT IS DONE ON LINE. YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME TO THE SCHOOL TO USE OUR COMPUTER FOR THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS.
