Please check with your child's teacher for individual classroom activiites that may be taking place at the end of the school year.
May 1st & 2nd Kindergarten Registration- Joy Elementary is all day kindergarten from 9:00-3:00.
To enroll your child in Kindergarten they must by 5 yrs old on or before September 1st
You must provide the following information for enrollment:
- birth certificate-
- shot records
- proof of your physical address in the form of a utility bill.
All enrollment is done online at https://www.k12northstar.org/enrollment you may enroll online at home or at Joy Elementary on May 1st & 2nd from 9am-3pm.

Enrollment checklist-Help speed up enrollment by bringing along these important forms: (**students will not be enrolled in school without these forms)
- **Birth Certificate
A birth certificate is required for students entering kindergarten or first grade who haven't been enrolled in the district before.
- **Proof of Immunization
- Transcripts or Report Cards
These help with class placement
- **Proof of Current Physical Address
Utility bills such as phone, water or electric-proof of one of these services at the home resident is required
Reminder: Students must be 5 years old on or before September 1st to enroll in Kindergarten
OAA REQUESTS: If you do not live in the Joy attendance area and wish to have your child attend Joy school you will need to enroll in your home school and fill out an OAA request at that school that will be submitted to Joy. Out of Attendance Area requests will not be considered until after the first 10 days of school. Students must be enrolled in their home school for the first 10 days of school. Families will be contacted on day 11 day, if there is an opening in the requested grade level.

The HB57 Operating Budget conference committee has been appointed. If you value public education in the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District, please reach out to committee members and local legislators now to request maintaining status quo education funding.
This June, bring your children to Ryan Middle School for a free, delicious and nutritious lunch. The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District is participating in the USDA Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children 18 years and younger without charge.
