  • The West Valley Wrestling Team is partnering with Farm Fresh Fundraising to bring you fresh fruit from California.  Fruit options include peaches, plums, apricots, nectarines, and Valencia Oranges.  Click here https://sites.google.com/site/westvalleywrestling/boosters for more information.  The fruit truck will arrive in Fairbanks around mid June.

  • Kraska named Alaska Secondary Principal of the Year

    West Valley High School Principal Shaun Kraska has been named Alaska Secondary School Principal of the Year. The Alaska Association of Secondary School Principals, which gives the award each year, announced the winner Thursday afternoon.

  • A close-up of opera

    Local high school students had a chance on April 14 to hear some beautiful singing and get a close up look at what opera singers do. Performers from Opera Fairbanks visited the concert choirs of three local high schools — West Valley, North Pole and Lathrop — to perform arias in various opera styles and answer questions about making a career in the opera world.

  • Fairbanks school board member announces resignation plans

    Fairbanks school board member Lisa Gentry announced Tuesday evening that she plans to resign her seat. Gentry, who is vice president of the Fairbanks North Star Borough Board of Education, said she is resigning because her family is in the process of moving to Vancouver, Washington. She said the move was career related.
