On the day of the event, schools will remain open as usual and the district is partnering with the borough to encourage school field trips, as appropriate to grade level and content area.
Due to the location of the event, school bus routes near Broadmoor Avenue and Dale Road that serve West Valley High, University Park Elementary, and Ryan Middle will be impacted by the activities and alternative pick-up and drop-off points will be scheduled for that day. Information from First Student regarding the alternative stops is posted below and will be distributed to students on affected buses this week. Traffic near Watershed Charter will also be impacted and more information will be available shortly.

Alaska 4-H has a wonderful opportunity for the Alaska community!
Alaska 4-H State Volunteer Forum provides 4-H volunteers/leaders and others who work with youth (an affiliation with 4-H is not necessary) useful and fun workshops to develop skills and tools.
The forum is open to the public for registration. The forum will be on March 5, 6, and 7. Individual day registration is an option. This is an excellent opportunity for growth - there are not only opportunities for educators but for teens as well!
For workshop descriptions, times, and to register visit the Alaska 4-H 2015 State Volunteer Forum website.
