Grants & Special Projects
Grants and Special Projects acquires and manages funds obtained through grants that support the mission and objectives of our district. The grants office obtains about $2,000,000 a year in new, competitive funds for such projects as improving elementary reading and placing technology in the high schools. Special Projects are assigned by the Superintendent. The three-year study to maximize instructional time is one example of a Special Project. Our office:
- Provides coordination for finding and managing grants, plus conducts special projects as assigned
- Assists school staff in locating funding sources
- Coordinates district grant review process
- Negotiates grant conditions, budgets, etc., with funding agencies
- Prepares competitive and formula grant applications that are above $5,000
- Assists and reviews staff members with Small Grant applications
- Monitors progress of most grant projects; directly manages some projects
- Ensures financial and program requirements are met
- Coordinates cooperative grant applications with other agencies
- Conducts special projects at the direction of the Superintendent.
