S.L.E.D. or State Library Electronic Doorway
SLED is a public service providing easy and equitable access to electronic information. SLED was developed by the Alaska State Library and the Elmer E. Rasmuson Library, University of Alaska Fairbanks. An advisory group of citizens and librarians choose sites of interest to Alaskans for the SLED menus. Because SLED connects to the Internet, once you leave SLED's main menu, SLED cannot control the information you access. There is material and information on the Internet which you may personally find inappropriate. Neither the State Library nor Rasmuson Library can be held responsible for its content. Parents or guardians, not SLED or its staff, are responsible for the Internet information accessed by their children through SLED. We strongly advise parents to supervise their children's Internet use.
