Do You Have Questions About:
- Getting your children to obey family rules?
- How to avoid the homework hassle?
- Reducing family stress and frustration?
- Getting through to your child?
- Communication skills?
- How to help your children be successful?
Federal Programs is offering a new program for interested schools to help parents become better engaged with the school. Parenting Partners is developed by Family Leadership Inc, a non-profit organization, and over 60,000 parents have been trained nationwide to support the academic success of their children. Parents are trained with school staff to become better communicators and disciplinarians in addition to learning practical academic improvement skills to support the classroom teacher.
Parenting Partners now offers free resources called ePubs for parents on their website ParentingTools.org. These free epubs have 30 ideas each – one per day – to help build habits of speaking to our kids and teens in more positive ways. When you check out, use our promotional code (ask your school's Parenting Partners team or email firstname.lastname@example.org for the current code) and your ePub purchase will be free.
Parenting Partners can also be found on Facebook. Visit the Family Leadership page to view photos from trainings around the country.
The FNSBSD schools participating in the Parenting Partners program are:
- Anne Wien
- Arctic Light
- Badger Road
- North Pole Elementary
- Randy Smith
- Two Rivers
Workshops at schools:
Inquire at your school for the dates, times and location of the ongoing or upcoming Parenting Partners workshops.
In the first phase of the program each school will send a team of parents and staff members to the Parenting Partners Facilitator Training. These core teams will facilitate workshops for all interested parents at their respective schools during the school year. New parent graduates of the Parenting Partners program will then have the opportunity to share their knowledge and skills in upcoming years as Parenting Partners Facilitators thus ensuring the continuity of the program. Schools that have existing Parenting Partners programs and team of facilitators can add to their team from parent graduates.
For more information on Parenting Partners, visit Family Leadership Inc website.
