English/Language Arts

PHILOSOPHY

Instruction in language arts integrates listening, speaking, reading, writing, and media literacy to develop critical thinkers who will be self-directed, productive participants in our diverse society.

MISSION

Guided by Alaska State Standards, the FNSBSD will provide a comprehensive instructional program embedded in a literature-rich environment. Students will develop the specific skills necessary to become proficient readers, writers, listeners, speakers, viewers, and thinkers in the home, the workplace, and the world.
